Check out the new Mossfiel Community Garden

Calling all green thumbs – the Mossfiel Community Garden is now open!

This $212,000 Wyndham City space has transformed the former Mossfiel Kindergarten site in Hoppers Crossing into a gardener’s haven with accessibility in mind, featuring vegetable garden plots, raised planter boxes, picnic shelter and hardstand communal area, and garden shed and shipping container for storage.

There’s also a space for a potential small orchard of fruit trees.

Meanwhile, the existing rotunda, sandpit and play elements have been retained from the former kindergarten following community consultation.

These works have sowed the seeds to create a welcoming space for people to grow their own produce, connect with neighbours, and build strong community connections.

The space will be managed by the Mossfiel Reserve Community Garden Committee, who were instrumental in the garden’s design.
