Art Workshops for Better Mental Health

Held every fortnight on Saturdays from 1pm to 4pm. Starting 7th February 2026 and onwards. Only skipping Satureday, 4th April (Easter Weekend). Workshops held during term and school holidays.

Inclusive for all abilities. Taught in English and Auslan.

Learning in Painting, doodling, Drawing, Colouring, and experimenting with watercolour, pencils, coloured pencils, felt tip markers, micro pens, and other equipment such as ruler, protactor, compass.

Learning to make lines, lineworkk and linestyle patterns, Zentangle patterns, perspective, shapes, shadows, composition, Rule of Thirds, Texture, Colour Theory and Colour Knowledge.

Four Art Workshops
1. Paint and Doodle: 7th 21st Feb; 7th 21st March; 18th April
2. Colour and Graphite Pencils: 2nd 16th 30th May; 13th 27th June
3. Intermediate Watercolour: 11th 25th July; 8th 22nd Aug; 5th Sept
4. Advanced Watercolour: 19th Sept; 3rd 17th 31st Oct; 14th Nov

Each workshop is five sessions, with each session 3 hours with a Tea break. Each Workshop builds on knowledge and skills from the previous workshop. Painting and Doodling includes some basics of Watercolour.

All of the Workshops will be held at the Truganina Community Centre.

Materials will be provided for those who don't have supplies for extra cost, provided notification before sessions starts for enough time to order materials.
