Wyndham City is investing $3.7 million into 40 sporting clubs and community organisations across the municipality, delivering 46 projects that will promote a healthy, active lifestyle for our residents.

The innovative two-year Wyndham Active Revitalisation Program, announced in this year’s budget, is delivering small and medium capital upgrades at not-for-profit clubs that use Wyndham City facilities, helping them grow and become more inclusive.

Successful projects will be delivered between December 2025 and June 2027 and include upgrades such as training facilities, scoreboards, booking and access systems, portable goals, seating, storage, CCTV, minor kitchen refurbishments and major sports equipment.

Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Josh Gilligan, said the program was about backing the grassroots clubs that are at the heart of community life.

“Local clubs are where kids play their first game, parents volunteer on the weekend and lifelong friendships are formed,” Cr Gilligan said.

“Through this program we’re investing more than $3.7 million in the facilities our clubs rely on – so they can focus on coaching, supporting members and welcoming new players.”

Cr Gilligan said the Wyndham Active Revitalisation Program had been designed with clubs, for clubs.

“Clubs told us they needed help with practical, on-the-ground upgrades – things like safe and modern training spaces, better storage, improved security and facilities that can support more women and girls, people with disability and culturally diverse communities,” he said.

“By delivering these projects in partnership with clubs, Council is making sure every dollar goes further and delivers long-term benefits for our growing community.”

Through the program, eligible not-for-profit sporting clubs and community organisations were able to put forward one small project (up to $50,000 excluding GST) and one medium project (up to $200,000 excluding GST) for consideration.

Council then assessed and prioritised projects using agreed criteria and will manage delivery of the approved works.

At least 32 small projects and 14 medium projects will be delivered across Wyndham as part of the program, with funding spread across a wide range of sports, age groups and neighbourhoods.
