Wyndham City is calling for feedback on a proposal to create a new dog off-leash park in Point Cook.

The new dog off-leash park is proposed for Citybay Drive Drainage Reserve, at the corner of Edge View and Waves Drive, Point Cook.

The proposed fenced off-leash area will include:

  • A large fenced lawn area with double gates to maximise pet safety
  • Drinking fountain with dog bowl and bottle tap
  • Agility equipment for energetic dogs
  • Doggie bag dispensers and bins available to clean up after pets and
  • New trees, landscaping and seating

Wyndham City’s Cheetham Ward Councillor, Susan McIntyre said the Citybay Drive Drainage Reserve is located across the road from the popular Crocodile Splash Park.

“We commenced designs for this dog-off leash park earlier this year,” she said. “We were mindful of creating a welcoming space on the reserve that could be enjoyed by families and also offer a safe, fenced area for pet owners.”

“The design gives us the opportunity to move a small junior park that was installed some 15 years ago and merge it with the play space for older kids.”

“It allowed us to update the equipment for pre-schoolers and create a central play space for families to enjoy with their older and younger children on Citybay Drive Drainage Reserve.”

The delivery of this project, commenced in the last financial year, will conclude the program of dog off-leash park installations in Wyndham, with the exception of projects with Government funding.

Drop-in sessions to discuss the proposed dog park will take place at Citybay Drive Drainage Reserve, at the corner of Edge View and Waves Drive, Point Cook on:

  • Tuesday 7 October at 3:30pm - 6:30pm
  • Saturday 11 October at 10am – 12pm
