TOGETHER (2025) by MeiMei Hodgkinson

TOGETHER by artist MeiMei Hodgkinson installed on the external walls of Arndell Park Community Centre is also visible from the Arndell Park Reserve. The anonymity of hands featured in the photographs invite viewers to reflect on the quiet and shared gestures that connect us across the intricacies of everyday life.

Artist Statement

By depicting everyday moments of human connection, TOGETHER aims to inspire a sense of shared ownership and pride in the community, promoting the idea that everyone deserves to feel safe and at home in Wyndham.

Forming a cohesive narrative, TOGETHER comprises four light boxes featuring black and white analogue photographs of Wyndham residents. Each image captures a tender moment of connection between individuals of different age groups, their hands clasped together.

The surrounding repeated text, AT HOME, frames the images - inviting the viewer to reflect on the fundamental human desire to feel a sense of belonging and security within their community.
