Wyndham City is proud to announce Siya Gauri Singh as the One Wyndham recipient for May.
Siya Gauri is a creative advocate and encourages young people to follow their creative passions and dreams through acting, drama, dance, movies and writing which helps build self-esteem, confidence, develop leadership skills and personal identity.
Siya Gauri has received many academic and leadership awards for a commitment to extracurricular activities, studies and the community, including the Australian Defence Force Long Tan Leadership 2023, MP Trung Luu – Academic Achievement, Monash Scholars Program, The Age Essay Writing Competition and many others.
Currently, Siya Gauri volunteers as a youth writer for The Westsider, giving a voice to young people and their concerns in the Western Suburbs. With a passion for storytelling and highlighting issues that affect young people, Siya Gauri’s contribution to the community is notable.
Through a strong commitment to connecting and supporting others, she helps to build an inclusive and thriving community.
Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Mia Shaw, said: “Siya Gauri makes a positive contribution to the Wyndham community and ensures young people have a voice.”

One Wyndham recipients are residents aged between 12 to 25 who positively contribute to the Wyndham community and are role models to other young people.
Each month Council selects a Wyndham resident to be awarded the ‘Young Person of the Month’.
Winners are awarded a $300 gift voucher of their choice and other prizes.
