Roads, parks, community facilities and open spaces across Wyndham have been transformed as part of Council's 2025/26 $165 million capital works program, delivering projects that support the city's growing population.
Among the major milestones was completion of stage two of the $16.1 million Jamieson Way Community Centre and Reserve expansion in Point Cook, which delivered a new indoor multisport venue, new netball pavilion with two new courts and more.
Wyndham City also completed a stunning transformation of the iconic K Road Cliffs in Werribee South, delivering a new clifftop walking path, lookout points, upgraded visitor facilities and drainage improvements to improve the visitor experience and help mitigate cliff erosion.
Other major highlights included:
- An $8.5 million upgrade of Old Melbourne Road, Rothwell Road, and McLeans Road in Little River
- Delivering Wyndham’s second athletics facility at Truganina’s newest active open space, Fortitude Drive Reserve
- New active open spaces at Polly Parade Reserve in Tarneit and Holyoake Parade Reserve in Manor Lakes
- New gallery spaces and improvements to the overall theatre experience as part of the $10 million Wyndham Cultural Centre redevelopment
- Opening of the new Mossfiel Community Garden in Hoppers Crossing
- A series of transformative park and playground upgrades delivered through our annual Park Asset Renewal Program, including the installation of Wyndham’s first We-Go Swing and other inclusive elements as part of an $845,000 upgrade at Hoppers Crossing’s Woodville Park
- LED sportsground lighting upgrades, electronic scoreboard improvements, new player benches and more delivered through the Wyndham Active Revitalisation Program
We're also nearing the finish line on two of our Connecting Wyndham priority projects, with construction on the K Road reconstruction (Duncans Road to K Road Cliffs) and the Tarneit Road and Leakes Road intersection upgrade on track for completion shortly.
Wyndham City Mayor, Councillor Preet Singh, said this year’s capital works program focused on building a more connected, active and liveable Wyndham for our growing population.
“Wherever you live in Wyndham, chances are you've seen one of these projects taking shape,” Cr Singh said.
“Over 2025/26, we've invested in safer roads with more capacity and better connections, improved our local parks and open spaces and invested in the facilities that matter most to our community.”
“Whether it's a smoother drive to work, a better local park, or a new place to meet and play, these projects are helping make everyday life in Wyndham even better.”
Meanwhile, work is well underway on even more new and upgraded infrastructure, including the Ison Road project, Doherty’s House Café in Tarneit, Wyndham Vale North Reserve pavilion, Wootten Road Reserve tennis court redevelopment, park upgrades at Rosslare Court Reserve and Farfalla Way Park and more.
