Woodville Park upgrade creates a more inclusive, welcoming space

Woodville Park in Hoppers Crossing has received an exciting $845,000 upgrade that has elevated the space to a vibrant destination packed with inclusive features for children of all abilities.

At the heart of the upgrade is fun and inclusive new play equipment, including Wyndham’s first We-Go Swing (an unfenced wheelchair accessible swing), a wheelchair-accessible merry-go-round and trampoline, a new swing set, and various additional play elements.

These are complemented by rubber soft-fall surfacing, ensuring safety and usability for people of all ages and abilities.

Other improvements include a new picnic shelter, accessible BBQ, additional picnic settings, upgraded timber boardwalk and a new drinking fountain, with a public toilet to be installed in the second half of 2026.

Wyndham City Mayor, Councillor Preet Singh, said the Woodville Park upgrade has delivered a strong focus on inclusive play, ensuring children of all abilities can play side by side.

“We wanted to create a space that's welcoming, fun, and attracts people from both Hoppers Crossing and surrounding suburbs,” Cr Singh said.

“This upgrade transforms Woodville Park into a destination where everyone feels welcome – the new play space has been designed to ensure children of all abilities can play side by side, families can spend more time outdoors, and our community can connect.”

The upgrade is a key action from the Woodville Place Plan and the Help Woodville Thrive project, with the final design shaped by community feedback gathered through an extensive community engagement process.
