Warringa Crescent Reserve in Hoppers Crossing has undergone a significant transformation, with the latest stage of improvement works now complete, delivering a safer, greener and more accessible space for the community to enjoy.
The project delivered major landscaping improvements, with 84 new trees planted throughout the reserve and new garden beds to further enhance the natural environment and overall appearance of the space.
Community amenities were also improved with the installation of a new shelter and picnic setting, additional seating, a drinking fountain with a dog bowl, and a new shared path that meets Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) accessibility requirements.
A key focus of the project was reducing the height of the existing mound by approximately 1.7 metres to improve visibility into the reserve from the adjacent Woodville Park Shopping Centre. This change helps create a more open and connected environment while improving safety for visitors.
These upgrades build on earlier stage one works completed around the car park, which delivered new landscaping, tree planting, clearer signage and refreshed line marking to improve safety and accessibility.
The project supports the vision outlined in the Woodville Place Plan, adopted by Council in 2024, which aims to strengthen connections between local destinations and create more vibrant, connected public spaces.
Warringa Crescent Reserve is now a more inviting place for residents of all ages to relax, connect and enjoy the outdoors.
