Wyndham City is encouraging residents to get behind four local park projects that have progressed to the community voting stage of the Victorian Government's Pick My Park grants program.
With community support, Wyndham could secure up to $850,000 in State Government funding to help deliver park upgrades in Tarneit, Point Cook and Williams Landing, with co-contributions from Council.
The projects in the running are:
- Davis Creek Playspace Upgrade, Tarneit
- Saltwater Coast Wetlands Reserve Park Upgrade, Point Cook
- Greening the Pipeline Local Park (Zone 5 East) Upgrade, Williams Landing
- Point Cook Pop Up Park, Point Cook
Wyndham City Mayor Preet Singh said reaching the voting stage was a significant achievement and reflected the importance of investing in quality open spaces for residents.
"We're thrilled to see four Wyndham projects progress to the voting stage and we're calling on our community to get behind them – every vote counts!”
"Parks and open spaces play a vital role in supporting healthy, active and connected communities. These projects would deliver valuable improvements for residents of all ages and abilities."
"By casting their vote and supporting these projects, residents can help secure funding that will enhance local recreation opportunities and create even better places for our community to gather, play and enjoy the outdoors," Cr Singh said.
If successful, this funding will help deliver a range of improvements, including modern playground equipment, upgraded park infrastructure, improved accessibility and more welcoming community spaces.
About the Projects
- The Davis Creek Playspace Upgrade in Tarneit is in contention for $250,000 in funding to support an upgrade of the existing park with modern play equipment, picnic facilities, accessible pathways and shade trees, creating a more welcoming and inclusive space for local families.
- The Saltwater Coast Wetlands Reserve Upgrade in Point Cook could secure $250,000 to help deliver new play and picnic facilities, including seating, shelter and accessible paths, addressing a key gap in local park infrastructure and enhancing opportunities for recreation.
- The Greening the Pipeline Local Park (Zone 5 East) in Williams Landing is also in contention for $250,000 which would support delivery of a new play space, picnic facilities, seating and landscaping, transforming an underutilised corridor into a vibrant and connected community destination.
- The Point Cook Pop Up Park is in the running to secure almost $95,000 towards refreshing this important community hub, with new artificial turf, water points, stage seating, upgraded furniture, landscaping and interactive games, supporting community events and social connection.
Wyndham residents are encouraged to vote, spread the word among family and friends and help secure vital funding for our local parks.
Voting is now open until Monday 3 August 2026.
