Wyndham City is calling for feedback on plans to boost Woodville Park in Hoppers Crossing, which would upgrade it to a larger-scale public recreational space, supporting a wider range of activities.

Wyndham City’s Heathdale Ward Councillor, Jennie Barrera, said the upgrade includes all-new play equipment with an emphasis on accessibility including Council’s first We-Go swing (an unfenced wheelchair accessible swing).

“The upgrade is expected to attract more park goers from across the surrounding suburbs, which in turn is expected to build an increased sense of community and strengthen local businesses,” she said. “It would be great to see visitors shop locally, boosting business.”

“The proposed changes are consistent with the Woodville Place Plan that was recently developed.”

“The vision for Woodville, which was developed with extensive consultation, aims to cherish connections ‘between people, place and nature, and connections between past, present and future’.”

“These connections aim to foster a friendly community spirit, create a vibrant activity centre, promote a healthy lifestyle, and ensure a safe, green environment.”

Members of the project team will be onsite at Woodville Park to talk about the project on:

  • Thursday 5 June, 2:30pm – 6pm
  • Saturday 14 June, 10am – 1pm
