Wyndham City Libraries is hosting a free parenting program both in person at Williams Landing Library Lounge and online on Wednesday, 18 June 2025 from 6.30pm to 7.30pm which will give suggestions, tips and strategies on how to approach your children’s screen time.
Do you worry about your child’s screen use?
Then join Digital Child & Deakin University Research, Kate Mannell, as she shares evidenced based insights and resources to help support families of young children growing up in a rapidly changing digital age.
Wyndham City Mayor Cr Mia Shaw said: “We encourage parents, carers and families to come along and take in the information provided on the night.”
“The free Managing Screen Time 60-minute program will provide parents and carers of preschool and primary school aged children with advice and practical tips on managing the daily screen time challenges.”
“It may also be comforting to meet and talk with parents facing similar screen time battles and know they’re not alone.”
“This talk will give parents and carers an overview of navigating screen time challenges with young children, tips on setting screen time limits and how to encourage other play-based activities.”
“The talk will be an interesting and informative session where parents and carers will take away practical tools to help them manage and improve their children’s screen time and lead to calmer and happier family time.” said Cr Shaw
Bookings are required for both in-person and online attendees.
