Wyndham City Council has adopted its Annual Plan and Budget 2026/27, featuring a $178.5 million Capital Works program and a $515.9 million investment in services and programs that will enhance liveability and support Wyndham’s continued growth.
The budget delivers year two of Council’s Long-Term Financial Plan, balancing responsible financial management with continued investment in the infrastructure, facilities and services needed by Wyndham’s growing community.
Wyndham City Mayor Cr Preet Singh said the budget delivered a significant investment in Wyndham’s future.
"This budget invests in the infrastructure, facilities and services our growing community needs, while ensuring Council remains financially sustainable and well-positioned to meet future challenges and opportunities," Cr Singh said.
"With a $178.5 million Capital Works program, delivering 82 projects, and more than $515 million invested in community services and programs, we are continuing to invest in the things that matter most to Wyndham residents."
The Capital Works program for 2026/27 includes an investment of $60.5 million in roads and footpaths and $86.3 million in upgrades for parks, open space recreation, leisure and community facilities across Wyndham.
Major project highlights include: a $15 million investment in the Leakes Road Duplication (Tarneit Road to Derrimut Road) as part of Council’s landmark Connecting Wyndham program, a $3.293 million investment in the new Riverwalk Community Centre (interim name) and open space and $5.5 million for the game-changing pavilion upgrade at Soldiers Reserve.
A further $515.9 million has been allocated to deliver services, programs and facilities that support everyday life in Wyndham, including maternal and child health and immunisation services, local libraries, kindergarten and childcare services, and community grants.
Cr Singh said community feedback had played an important role in shaping Council’s priorities.
"We heard from residents throughout the community engagement process and this feedback helped inform Council’s priorities and future planning. We thank everyone who took the time to share their views and contribute to shaping Wyndham’s future,” Cr Singh said.
The Annual Plan and Budget 2026/27 will guide Council’s delivery of services, infrastructure and community projects throughout the year ahead, helping build a connected, sustainable and thriving Wyndham.
