Iconic entertainer Christine Anu will launch the annual Wyndham Learning Festival.
This year is the 10th anniversary of the Wyndham Learning Festival which has the milestone theme, A Decade of Discovery: Celebrating 10 years of learning.
Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Mia Shaw said it was wonderful to have Christine Anu launch the festival, sharing stories spanning her 30+ years as a performer.
“Christine Anu is one of Australia’s most popular recording artists and performers,” Cr Shaw said. “She will talk about her acclaimed 30+ year career that spans music, theatre, dance, film, television, radio, children’s entertainment and advocacy for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.”
“Celebrations on the day will also include a mini expo and First Nations Expo and Craft Market.”
The launch event will take place on 24 August and the Wyndham Learning Festival will run from 1 to 7 September.
The Festival will feature more than 100 free events, workshops and activities. From food and cooking to history, culture and diversity workshops to wellbeing and self care classes. There will also be sessions that explore the world of business and tech - there will be something for all ages, interests and abilities at venues located across the city.
