The Padres All Ages Come & Try Day is an opportunity for members of the local community to come along and experience softball in a fun, welcoming and inclusive environment.

Participants will be introduced to the fundamentals of the game through basic hitting, throwing and fielding drills, along with a range of fun mini-games. Qualified coaches and experienced Padres players will be on hand throughout the session to assist participants and ensure everyone has an enjoyable experience, regardless of whether they have played softball before.

The session is suitable for all ages and experience levels. Our junior program generally caters for players aged 7–14, although we can accommodate younger participants from approximately 4 years of age. Our senior program has no upper age limit, with players last season ranging from 14 through to 55 years of age.

The Come & Try Day will also include a free BBQ for participants at the conclusion of the session.

Upcoming Padres Programs

Our senior men’s and women’s seasons, catering for players aged approximately 14 and above, will commence in early October, with training commencing shortly.

Our junior program is expected to commence in mid-to-late October.

Padres is actively seeking new players across all age groups and demographics. We are particularly focused on providing an inclusive environment where people can participate in softball regardless of their previous sporting experience or background.

As a club, we have approximately 50 members and currently field men’s, women’s and junior teams. We have also previously held Come & Try Days with great success.

Padres is a Get Active provider, and we are committed to increasing participation and making softball accessible within the local community. We also have a strong focus on introducing the sport through schools. I regularly volunteer my time in schools to promote softball, assist schools with their teams and tournaments, and deliver Sporting Schools Victoria softball programs.
