If you are renting out your property for short stays, you will need to get a permit from Wyndham City Council.
This includes properties that are listed on platforms like:
- Airbnb
- Stayz
- Booking.com.
The short stay accommodation permit helps us make sure that short stay accommodation does not negatively affect the surrounding communities.
Get a short stay accommodation permit
You do not need a planning permit or a building permit.
Your responsibilities as a permit holder
If you rent out a property for short stays, you must:
- hold a valid short stay accommodation permit
- make sure guests do not make a lot of noise or cause issues for other residents
- make sure the accommodation is kept clean and tidy and waste is disposed of properly
- make sure there is enough parking for guests and that guests do not park illegally.
If you do not hold a valid permit, or your accommodation does not comply with the conditions of the permit, you may be issued with an infringement or have your permit revoked.
