Central Watton Street streetscape upgrade
Central Watton Street streetscape upgrade
Watton Street is getting a makeover, with a transformative streetscape upgrade set to deliver safer, more comfortable places for people to walk, meet and enjoy the Werribee City Centre.
Starting in early 2027, the upgrade will transform the southern side of Watton Street between Duncans Road and the raised pedestrian crossing near Coles, delivering:
- A full reconstruction of the footpath with high-quality paving
- Improved pedestrian crossings
- New seating and street furniture
- More trees and landscaped garden beds
This exciting upgrade marks the second major delivery under the Rediscover Werribee City Centre program and follows the recent completion of a major streetscape upgrade along Duncans Road that has delivered brand-new bluestone footpaths, feature seating platforms, landscaping, a raised pedestrian crossing at Watton Street, improved lighting and more.
Preparations for further streetscape upgrades at the West End of Watton Street and in Station Place are also on the cards, subject to future funding.
Benefits:
- Creating a safer, more inviting Werribee City Centre
- Enhance accessibility around the City Centre
- Improved road safety for all users
