The Point Cook Homestead is a historic bluestone residence within Point Cook Coastal Park that was built in 1857.
As one of the oldest buildings in the Wyndham area, the Homestead has tremendous potential for future usage and represents an opportunity to preserve critical history of Melbourne’s West.
In late 2024 the Homestead was damaged by vandalism. The State Government has taken steps to secure and protect the buildings while further restoration plans progress. The Victorian Managed Insurance Authority (VMIA) has approved the scope of repair works, including replacement and repair of all windows, frames and doors that were damaged by vandalism.
Unfortunately, even after these repair works are completed, the Homestead will remain boarded up for the foreseeable future.
To preserve our region’s history, we are asking the State Government for a contribution to activate this site for the long term. With this contribution, and partnership, the community can create a vision for the future of the Point Cook Homestead.
