Wyndham City is proud to announce Nivedya Prasanth as the One Wyndham recipient for February.
Nivedya is a talented and passionate young women who is all about making a change in the society through poetry and creative writing. She champions equality and encourages young people to feel empowered and live their best life.
Nivedya is an active member of her school leadership team and was awarded the Long Tan award this year for her exceptional leadership at school.
Twice Nivedya has represented her school at Parliament giving a voice to young women. She is a voracious debater and has been competing in debating and public speaking competitions for some time. Nivedya has contributed to the school community consistently winning leadership awards and assisting with various events at school.
Nivedya is an aspiring and talented Bharatanatyam dancer and has been training in this classical dance for over 6 years. She showcases classical dance and builds awareness of all cultures to build inclusivity.
Creative writing is Nivedya’s passion and she makes a positive impact through her creative writing skills, contributing to a society that empowers women. She also won second place at the Wyndham Libraries Imagination Creation writing competition.
Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Josh Gilligan, said “Nivedya is an inspirational young role model and leads by example through her creative writing and classical dance..”

One Wyndham recipients are residents aged between 12 to 25 who positively contribute to the Wyndham community and are role models to other young people.
Each month Council selects a Wyndham resident to be awarded the ‘Young Person of the Month’.
Winners are awarded a $300 gift voucher of their choice and other prizes.
