As part of Connecting Wyndham, we’re investing $13.5 million to upgrade the intersection of Shaws Road and Tarneit Road – an important step towards creating a safer, more efficient, and connected transport network for residents and visitors alike.
Features
- Duplicating the Tarneit Road and Shaws Road intersection, adding extra lanes to cater for growing traffic and minimise traffic disruptions
- Installing traffic lights at the intersection to improve the flow of traffic
- Enhancing existing pedestrian and cycling linkages for better accessibility and safety
This project is currently in the planning and design stage – stay tuned for further updates.
Benefits
- Improved road safety: the new traffic signalisation and enhanced pedestrian and cycling linkages will significantly improve safety for all road users.
- Reduced travel times: optimised traffic flow through the upgraded intersection will result in shorter travel times and less traffic congestion, making commutes more efficient.
- Enhanced pedestrian and cycling accessibility: upgraded pathways will provide safer and more convenient routes for pedestrians and cyclists, promoting healthier and more sustainable modes of transportation.
This important project is a key part of Wyndham City’s Connecting Wyndham program, which is creating a safer, more efficient, and connected transport network for residents and visitors alike.
