This $10.1 million Wyndham City project will completely rebuild the 2.8-kilometre section of K Road between Duncans Road and K Road Cliff and upgrade the Main Drive intersection.
This vital upgrade will deliver easier and safer access to and from Werribee South for all road users, including the Werribee South tourism precinct.
Features
- Rebuilding the 2.8-kilometre section of K Road between Duncans Road and K Road Cliff, with sealed shoulders
- An upgraded intersection at Main Drive to improve access to and from major attractions such as the Werribee Open Range Zoo, Werribee Mansion, the National Equestrian Centre, and the Victoria State Rose Garden
- A shared user path and improved connections to existing bus stops.
Construction is expected to be completed in late 2026.
Benefits
- Enhanced safety: the addition of a sealed shoulder will improve road safety by providing a safer space for drivers to pull over if needed.
- Smoother journeys: the reconstructed road will offer a smoother driving experience, reducing wear and tear on vehicles and making travel more comfortable.
- Improved access to key destinations: easier and safer access to main tourism destinations in Werribee South, including Werribee Open Range Zoo, Werribee Mansion, the National Equestrian Centre, and the Victoria State Rose Garden, which will enhance the visitor experience and support local tourism.
This important project is a key part of Wyndham City’s Connecting Wyndham program, which is creating a safer, more efficient, and connected transport network for residents and visitors alike.
