Wyndham City Council currently has 106 volunteers generously giving their time across 13 Council programs in 27 locations. 

Council onboarded 31 new Council volunteers in the last financial year alone, across areas such as Libraries, Community Centres, Visitor Information Centre and Youth Services.  

Our Volunteers are from a range of backgrounds and ages, with just under half of all Council volunteers aged between 14 and 25 years, which is wonderful for our community that so many young people are engaged and volunteer their time for the benefit of others. Many of the young volunteers help in Youth Services and Library programs including Youth Services Paradox FReeZa, Youth Task Force, and VolunTeens a Library-based program.

Wyndham City Mayor Cr Mia Shaw said: “Wyndham City appreciates all the Council volunteers that have generously volunteered their time through many Council programs and services over the last financial year.”

“Council volunteers have contributed an outstanding 9,207 hours, positively impacting 47,714 community members during the 2025/26 financial year making an extraordinary difference every day through giving their time to help others.”

“Wyndham City is incredibly grateful and thanks all the Council volunteers that make a meaningful contribution to support and help strengthen our community.” Volunteering also delivers benefits for those who participate, providing opportunities to learn new skills, build confidence and develop friendships. As well as delivering significant social, cultural and economic benefits. Without this commitment, many essential services, programs and activities would simply not be possible.
