Game, set, match: Wootten Road Reserve tennis courts set for major upgrade

Exciting news for local tennis lovers, an ace upgrade is underway at the Wootten Road Reserve tennis courts in Tarneit.

Construction has commenced on a $2.6 million redevelopment of courts 4-9, with the existing courts to be demolished and fully rebuilt with fresh, modern acrylic surfaces.

The new courts will feature durable, low-maintenance surfaces designed for both club use and public access, meaning more time on court and fewer interruptions for maintenance.

Wyndham City Brinbeal Ward Councillor, Robert Szatkowski, said this upgrade would make it easier for tennis lovers to fit in a match, practice or recreational volley.

“Wootten Road Reserve is already an important local sporting facility, and this upgrade will make a real difference for tennis players, families and the wider community,” Cr Szatkowski said.

“These courts get strong use, so rebuilding them properly with modern, durable surfaces is the right thing to do.”

“Good local facilities matter. They give people more chances to stay active, join a club, spend time with family and friends, and feel connected to their community.”

“This is exactly the kind of investment we need in a growing area like Tarneit. It is about making sure our community has safe, accessible, and long-lasting facilities close to home.”

Construction is expected to be completed in the first half of 2027.
