Come along and be part of Hall Stories, a dynamic and interactive ninety minute event with Damian Callinan at the Little River Mechanics Institute Hall from 7.30pm to 9pm on Saturday 14 February 2026.

In this show, Damian works with the local community to delve into the history and characters of the Little River Mechanics Institute Hall, and the role that it plays in the broader community. Audience participation is encouraged as Damian draws out the many stories, thoughts, feelings and memories from the Little River Mechanics Institute’s past and the role it has played in the Little River community.

A podcast to document the story of the Little River Mechanics Institute Hall will be uploaded after the event.

In Hall Stories, Damain Callinan, a celebrated actor, comedian, and creator of the hit Netflix film The Merger, combines his skills as a storyteller, stand-up, and character actor to pull back the curtain on his own tour stories and examine the quirks, traditions, and characters of Australian halls and meeting places.

Hall Stories is Callinan doing what he does best, where he does it best. He knows how to talk over a bubbling urn; wind up when the CWA heads into the supper room, and stack the chairs in 5’s at the end of the night. You just let him know where to get the hall key, and he’ll do the rest.

Tickets start from $25 to $30.
