Big milestone alert – construction is now complete on stage one of Tarneit’s newest active open space, Polly Parade Reserve.
This $19.1 million Wyndham City project is packed with first-class facilities for the growing Tarneit community, including sports fields for soccer and cricket, tennis courts, cricket practice nets and a children’s play space.
Other features include pathways, sports lighting, BBQ and picnic area, fencing, landscaping and irrigation.
Meanwhile, work on Polly Parade’s brand-new pavilion is well underway, with the building centrally located within the reserve to cater for soccer, cricket and tennis.
Wyndham City Mayor, Councillor Josh Gilligan, said Polly Parade Reserve exemplified Council’s strong investment in providing our community with the infrastructure they need, close to home.
“We know how important it is for our residents to have great open spaces nearby, and that’s why we’re investing $20.8 million for open space projects and a further $23.1 million on new and improved sports facilities over 2025/26,” Cr Gilligan said.
“Polly Parade Reserve is a fantastic investment in the future of sport and recreation in our City, and once complete, will perfectly complement the adjacent Bembit Bag-rook Community Centre, which Wyndham City opened in 2022.”
The project has been supported by a $750,000 grant from the Victorian Government.
