Wyndham City has announced the winners of it’s 2025 ‘Flavours of the Street’ photography competition as part of the Tapestry of Culture arts program.

The Judge’s Choice Award, a $500 cash prize was awarded to Lauryn Brockwell for her striking photograph Early Morning Market, a piece praised for its atmosphere and composition.

The community had their say through the People’s Choice Award, a $500 cash prize, which attracted 223 public votes. Mario Reyes secured the honour with his image Midnight Meals, which received 42 votes, the highest in the category.

This competition and exhibition celebrated the rich diversity of cultures, cuisines, traditions and streetscapes within Wyndham, inviting photographers to capture not just the food, but the soul of street food culture and human stories behind each dish.

More than just pretty pictures, these photographs captured the faces behind the flavours, the hands that prepare each meal, and the shared joy of eating together on the streets.

This year’s competition drew an impressive 42 entries, with 30 images shortlisted for final consideration
