A vibrant new public artwork titled A Place to Grow has been installed at the Woodville Shops in Hoppers Crossing.
Commissioned by Wyndham City, the new artwork was created by local artist Andrea Draper in collaboration with students from Warringa Park School in Hoppers Crossing – providing young people with disabilities with a chance to express themselves and shape their local space.
The colourful mural brings vibrancy, energy and local stories to the precinct, transforming eight metres of blank windows along a key pedestrian path into something vibrant and welcoming for the next two years.
This artwork beams with the energy of many creative hands. Each shaped drawing is filled with unique marks made by students from Warringa Park Primary School. The Eucalyptus tree serves as a unifying symbol, connecting leaves, shapes and animal life, to the environment and the community.
