Wyndham City invites feedback on the Draft Active Wyndham Strategy 2026 – 2030, which aims to support residents in leading healthier and more active lifestyles.

Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Mia Shaw said over $180 million was invested in community sport and active recreation infrastructure through Wyndham’s capital works program, which was actioned during the 2019 – 2025 Active Wyndham Strategy.

“It’s a great time to celebrate the success we have achieved so far as we move forward with an updated five-year Active Wyndham Strategy,” Cr Shaw said.

“In the last few years we invested in 10 new sports reserves, the delivery of new or upgraded sportsground lighting across 28 sports fields and 30 courts, and the redevelopment of 15 community sports pavilions.”

“We’ve helped establish 12 new sports clubs that deliver soccer, cricket, AFL, and tennis programs and secured $30.2 million in grant funding for sport and recreation infrastructure.”

“We also engaged several thousand residents each year in programs such as Active Kids, Active Kinders and Active Holiday programs.”

“We achieved this through forward planning and now’s the time to build on that momentum and support our community to be more active, more often with feedback now open on the Draft Active Wyndham Strategy 2026 – 2030.”

The Draft Active Wyndham Strategy is shaped by four key themes that encourage participation in sport and physical activity, let us know if you think we’ve got it right.”
