Waterways of the West Brings Local Wildlife to Wyndham Streets

Wyndham’s street corners and footpaths are set to transform into vibrant snapshots of local river and wetland life this spring.

Following the success of Wings of the West-which celebrated the municipality's native birds-the new Waterways of the West art trail turns its focus underwater. Throughout October and November, artist Ulla Taylor will install a series of eye-catching anamorphic pavement artworks highlighting the rich biodiversity of Wyndham's waterways.

Residents can spot native species including the Murray Cod, Rakali (native water rat), Growling Grass Frog, and beloved local waterbirds at key activity hubs, including:

  • Lollypop Creek Community Centre
  • Dianella Community Centre
  • Point Cook Town Centre
  • Werribee City Centre

The project encourages the community to explore neighbouring centres and support local shops, all while raising awareness about the vital importance of protecting local aquatic habitats.

As temporary chalk installations, the artworks will naturally evolve and fade with the elements over the coming weeks. Locals and visitors are encouraged to get out early, experience the trail firsthand, and snap their photos while the colours are at their brightest.
