Wyndham City officially opened the new play space and youth space at Possy Newland Reserve in Little River, on Friday 5 December.
This $1.09 million Wyndham City upgrade, supported by a $50,000 State Government grant, features:
- dynamic new playground equipment and surfacing
- an upgraded sports court and new bouldering wall
- new youth space
- upgraded sheltered BBQ area
- attractive new landscaping
The Youth Space, installed near the basketball court, will allow Wyndham City’s Youth Services team to engage young people through sport and recreation activities throughout the year.
It is designed to be a supportive, welcoming area for young people, a place that encourages connection, wellbeing, and participation.
The exterior of the new Youth Space is also being transformed by Wyndham artist, Ayelet Brooks, with a beautiful new mural inspired by the You Yangs and the surrounding landscape.
As part of the official opening, Grade 5 and 6 students from Little River Primary School had the opportunity to leave their mark and contribute to the mural.
