Wyndham City invites feedback on proposed upgrades to Riverbend Historical Park including improvements to picnic areas, seating and pathways.

Riverbend Historical Park and it’s walking trails are already a popular spot for exercising and dog walkers and as the neighbouring population grows, enjoyment of this community gem is expected to increase.

The park was once part of Werribee’s historic irrigation scheme and is just a short walk from the Diversion Weir, built in 1910 to supply water to the Werribee South market garden region.

Visitation to the park is expected to increase, with Melbourne Water to make improvements to the existing canoe launch area later this year and plans for a future pedestrian bridge over the Werribee River (exact location to be determined), which will connect to the proposed Werribee Township Regional Park to be delivered by Parks Victoria on the north bank of the river.

Drop-in sessions to discuss the project will be held at Riverbend Historical Park, Wyndham Vale:

  • 10am-12pm on Saturday 14 February
  • 3pm-6pm on Tuesday 17 February
