Have your say – Draft Derrimut Road West UDF

Wyndham City is excited to share the Draft Derrimut Road West Urban Design Framework (UDF) for community feedback.

Wimba Ward Councillor Josh Gilligan said the UDF is being prepared by Council and provides a long-term plan to guide development of land located near the Tarneit Railway Station, with development of the land being the responsibility of the landowners and private developers.

“The UDF will see this area transformed into a vibrant, well-designed place to live, work and connect with a vision for new homes, shops, streets and public spaces,” Cr Gilligan said.

The Draft Derrimut Road West Urban Design Framework will work alongside the existing Tarneit Major Town Centre Urban Design Framework, which helps inform future planning for land across Derrimut Road near Tarneit Railway Station.

“Derrimut Road West UDF earmarks development that will make the most of the proximity to Tarneit Railway Station and the Tarneit Major Town Centre.”

“We understand the community has raised interest in seeing this area develop further with more connections to Derrimut Road and to have more opportunities for businesses to thrive.”

“We look forward to hearing the community’s thoughts on developing this part of Tarneit as a place to live, work and connect,” he said.

Residents can find a drop-in session to talk about the project or share their feedback on the UDF by 18 May at: www.theloop.wyndham.vic.gov.au/derrimut-road-west-udf
