Wyndham residents are invited to celebrate the progress being made towards the community’s vision for the future at Wyndham 2050 - Let’s Check In.

The new annual event will showcase how community ideas and priorities are helping shape the projects, services and initiatives being delivered across Wyndham.

From planting almost 9,000 new trees and welcoming millions of visits to community centres and libraries, to delivering a $40 million roads package and celebrating the continued advocacy that saw $95 million in funding from the State Government to open the upgraded Werribee Mercy Hospital Emergency Department, the achievements of the past year reflect what the community told Council it wants for Wyndham’s future.

Wyndham City Mayor, Councillor Mia Shaw, said the Wyndham 2050 Community Vision was about putting the community at the heart of planning for the municipality’s future.

“Wyndham 2050 is the community’s vision for the municipality.  It reflects the things our residents told us matter most. From a greener and more connected Wyndham to stronger communities and opportunities for health and wellbeing,” said Cr Shaw

“The Wyndham 2050 - Let’s Check In event is an opportunity for the community to see that vision in action, ask questions to Victoria Police representatives and other Council experts and celebrate what we have achieved together over the past year.”

“Residents will be able to explore an interactive showcase of projects and initiatives underway across Council, hear from the people helping deliver the Community Vision and take part in a live Q&A with Council staff.”

“The event will also feature experts and leaders talking about some of the work shaping Wyndham’s future and you will get a chance to hear from special guest speaker Inspector Peter Bitton from Victoria Police.”

“I encourage our community to come along, learn more about what’s happening across Wyndham and share their own insights on progress.”

Wyndham 2050 - Let’s Check In is a chance for the community to connect, learn about the progress being made and celebrate the achievements that are helping bring the Wyndham 2050 Community Vision to life.

What’s happening at the event?

• Hear from our Mayor, Cr Mia Shaw - kick things off with a welcome and look at what the Vision means for Wyndham.
• Three keynote presentations - Hear from experts and leaders about some of the work shaping Wyndham’s future, including: Public Safety & Crime Prevention – featuring special guest Inspector Peter Bitton from Victoria Police, Advocacy and Infrastructure and Planning.
• Explore the interactive showcase  - take a wander through our expo-style showcase to discover the work contributing to the Vision’s priorities
• Have your say in the live Q&A - put your questions to representatives working across the Community Vision priorities.
• Share your insights - what changes have you seen in our community over the past 12 months or how have your contributed to our Community Vision priorities?
