Tarneit’s newest active open space is now officially complete, with Wyndham City celebrating the opening of Polly Parade Reserve following the completion of a centrally located new pavilion. 

This $14 million Wyndham City project, which was completed over two stages, has delivered sports fields for soccer and cricket, tennis courts, cricket practice nets, a children’s play space, pathways, sports lighting, BBQ and picnic area, fencing, landscaping and irrigation to cater for Tarneit’s growing community.  

The final stage – a brand new-pavilion with six female-friendly changerooms that is centrally located within the reserve to cater for soccer, cricket and tennis – is now complete and being used by tenant clubs, Tarneit North Cricket Club and Tarneit North Football Club.

Hoppers Crossing Tennis Club will also operate from the reserve while the courts at their home base are being reconstructed, with Council to commence the development of long-term activation of the tennis facility at Polly Parade Reserve in 2027. 

Polly Parade Reserve was officially opened today by Wyndham City Deputy Mayor Jasmine Hill and Tarneit MP Dylan Wight.

Cr Hill said she was thrilled to see Polly Parade Reserve come to life.

“We want to ensure Wyndham remains a liveable City where our residents have access to the facilities they need, near where they live,” Cr Hill said.

“Polly Parade Reserve is a great example of this, providing the Tarneit community first-class sporting facilities to help them connect, get involved and be active.”

“The completion of the pavilion is the final piece of the puzzle, providing modern amenities that will support local sporting clubs for many years to come.”

Polly Parade Reserve, which was supported by $750,000 in grants from the Victorian Government, is a key part of the Tarneit North Community Precinct Master Plan and complements the adjacent Bembit Bag-rook Community Centre that Wyndham City opened in 2022.
