Join us at Mossfiel Reserve Community Garden for a relaxed, hands-on morning learning all about bees.
Healthy bees mean healthy gardens, more food and stronger ecosystems. Did you know bees can visit up to 5,000 flowers a day, help pollinate 1 in 3 bites of the food we eat, and that a single hive can hold 30,000 to 60,000 bees?
Whatβs on:
πΌ Why keep bees?
π Native bees: meet our local natives and learn how they support Australian biodiversity
π Queen spotting: the signs of a queen bee and what makes her so special
π MRCG scavenger hunt: explore the garden and discover hidden bee-friendly features
π― Honey tasting: taste the difference and enjoy the sweet rewards of happy bees
Facilitator: Debbie Conway from Be likes Bees
All are welcome. Come and celebrate our buzzing little helpers!
