- apply to vary (change) your building permit
- apply for an extension of time.
If you are working with a private building surveyor, contact them for variations and extensions.
Vary a building permit
To vary a building permit, you will need to provide:
- details of the variation
- costs associated with the variation
- amended plans showing the extent of the variations.

Get an extension of time for a building permit
To get an extension of time for your building permit, you will need to tell us:
- why you need an extension of time
- about the current status of your project.
You need to apply for an extension of time before the building permit lapses.
