Call out for cultural dance groups in Wyndham!
Entries is now open for Wyndham Youth Services ‘Dance Off!’, a cultural dance competition showcasing amazing local talent. This year will be even bigger and better, with 3 categories and a new location.
Date: 6 July 2024
Time: 1pm-5pm (category performance times will be announced once registrations have closed)
Location: Eagle Stadium, 35 Ballan Rd, Werribee
Rehearsal Space: Available at the Wyndham Youth Services, Hoppers Crossing on 3rd and 4th July from 9am – 9pm. Interested groups will be allocated 1-2 hours depending on availability.
Categories
- Mini (All performers are aged 0-12 years)
- Teen (All performers are aged 0-18 years)
- Open (50% of performers must be aged between 12-25 years)
A maximum of 12 groups per category will be accepted. Cultural groups and schools can register for multiple age categories, however individuals cannot perform in more than one category. Registrations will be accepted on a ‘first come first served’ basis. There will be no waiting list once all places have been filled.
Eligibility
- be a cultural dance group that is either based in Wyndham or has at least one performer who lives in Wyndham
- consist of a maximum of 20 performers
- meet the age eligibility requirements for the category being entered
Prizes
- Winners $750 (Awarded in each category)
- Runners Up $300 (Awarded in each category)
- Choreography Award $100 (Awarded in each category)
- Trophies and medals will also be given out.
Further Details
The stage space will be marked out on the court at Eagle Stadium to the measurements of 10m x 6m, so dancers cannot exceed this area.
Routine duration should be 3minutes in length, with time allowances given between 2.5 minutes - 3.5 minutes. Music must not run longer than 3.5 minutes. Music, lyrics and movements must be family friendly. Groups will need to send their music to organisers by 22nd June 2024.

Shortlisted groups will be sent a link to an online registration form to complete with performer details. Entry is not confirmed until this form has been submitted.
Confirmed groups will need to obtain permission and media consent from all performers. Forms must be submitted by 22nd June 2024.
