Harrison Ward Councillor, Jasmine Hill, was elected to Council in 2020.

Cr Hill is a secondary school teacher at a local school. She is passionate about making Wyndham a dynamic and liveable City. Cr Hill is community focussed and her long-term vision is for Wyndham to provide opportunities through becoming a City of Education.

Cr Hill has a long record of active involvement in the community. She has been involved in children and youth education, connecting and empowering women, assisting new migrants settling in and integrating into our community bridging the gap between our different cultures, supporting seniors, young mothers and the disadvantaged, starting non-for-profit and charity organisations, and organising community activities including the Point Cook Lunar New Year Festival.

Cr Hill originally comes from a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) background, with PhD in electrical and electronics engineering in the United Kingdom and over ten years’ experience innovating and teaching in the United Kingdom, Malaysia, Shanghai and Australia. She also has experience running a small business and is keen to continue to support local businesses and local tourism. Cr Hill is also passionate about sustainable energy and healthy living, improving active transportation, art and music, supporting local tourism and preserving our heritage. Cr Hill is a fan of LFC, Melbourne Stars, Western United and the Bulldogs.

Cr Hill is Council’s Learning City portfolio holder, which aims to develop a better understanding of the diverse learning needs of residents in Wyndham and create learning environments that promote civic and social participation, fosters thinking and innovation, ensures equity and inclusion, and are localised and place based.
