The Ripple Effect is a workshop designed to empower parents, carers, and community champions in the Wyndham community with the knowledge and tools to address knife crime, youth violence, and emerging community safety issues. This workshop is delivered by experienced youth and community practitioners who understand the challenges faced by young people from diverse backgrounds and who are committed to working alongside families and community members to create positive change in Wyndham.
The workshop is specifically designed for Wyndham residents who are:
- Parents: Including mothers, fathers, guardians, and other family members who play a primary role in raising children and youth.
- Carers: Individuals who provide care and support to young people, whether in a formal or informal setting. This may include foster parents, kinship carers, and youth workers.
- Community Champions: Individuals, including formal and informal leaders, who are passionate about creating safer communities for young people in Wyndham and proactively working to make a positive difference. This includes volunteers and staff from grassroots community organisations, community groups, and youth programs.
- School teachers and wellbeing staff
- Local residents dedicated to community safety and resilience
