2026 READY, SET, RACE COMPETITION TERMS AND CONDITIONS

By registering to participate in the 2026 Ready, Set, Race Competition, you agree to these terms and conditions.

  1. This competition is run by Wyndham City Council in the state of Victoria, Australia only.

 

  1. Entries that do not comply with these terms and conditions will not be valid and will not be accepted.

 

  1. There is a limit of 1 entry per person for this competition at one competition only which is listed below in clause 4 of these terms and conditions. 

     

  2. COMPETITION DATES, TIMES AND LOCATIONS

The competition will be held as two separate competitions on the following dates and Libraries:

a)     13 January 2026 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm – Manor Lakes Library vs Julia Gillard Tarneit Library

  1. REGISTRATION

a)    To be eligible to register for the competition, you must be aged between 13 and 18 years of age and live in Wyndham.  If you are aged under 18, you must have your parent or guardian’s consent to register for the competition. Council staff, Councillors and their immediate families are ineligible to register.

b)    Eligible entrants can register to enter the competition as participants.

c)     Registrations open at 10.00 am on Tuesday 6 January 2026 and must be made via Eventbrite. Refer to Ready, Set, Race: Interlibrary Gaming Tournament | Wyndham City  for registration via Eventbrite.

d)    There are total of 16 places available for the competition and registrations will be accepted on a first come first served basis. There will be a waiting list once all places have been filled and you will be notified if a place becomes available.

e)    Non registered participants who show up on the day are added to a waitlist and are allowed to play if a registered participant does not attend on the day or leaves before their round.

 

  1. COMPETITION FORMAT AND JUDGING

a)       Participants will use the game Nintendo Mario Kart 8 to compete in this competition.

b)      The winner of this competition is determined by round elimination.

c)       Participants will compete against each other as a group of four, then two, then a final, with the winner of the final receiving a medal, total of 6 winners for the competition.

d)      Round 1 will have 8 players with 4 races across two switches to determine 1st and 2nd places, and who will progress to round 2.

e)       Round 2 will have 4 players with 4 races on one switch to determine 1st and 2nd places and 
       will progress to round 3. During Round 2, the second switch is free for recreational use for 
       those who didn’t pass Round 1.

f)        Round 3 will be the finals 1st and 2nd from each branch will compete against each other 
       online to determine the ultimate winner. During Round 3, Council will set it up to ensure 
       that 3rd and 4th placings from each branch can also complete against each other online.

g)       In the competition between Manor Lakes Library vs Tarneit Library, the final six participants will get a medal each.

  1. PRIZES

a)       The final four participants at the end of each competition will each be distributed with a prize which will be available to be picked up at a branch of their choosing, within 2 business days after the event and held for a period of three months.

b)      There will be a total of 6 medals awarded to 6 participants in the whole competition.

c)       Each winner will receive one Generic 25mm Centre wreath medal worth $8.00

d)      The total prize pool is valued at $48.00.

e)       Prizes are not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash.

 

  1. CANCELLATION

a)       Notwithstanding any other provision of these conditions, and regardless of whether your participation in the competition has been confirmed by Council, Council expressly reserves the right to cancel the competition at any time.

b)      Council reserves the right to cancel your participation in the competition and/or not accept future registrations for the competition where you have submitted false, inaccurate, insufficient or misleading information as part of your registration.

 

  1. GENERAL

a)       Council may, acting reasonably in the circumstances, require you to provide evidence of your identity and/or eligibility to participate in the competition and/or to receive a prize.

b)      Council reserves the right to change or modify these conditions at any time.

c)       Council’s decisions are final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
