That’s a wrap! From road upgrades to community centre expansions, new and improved parks, open spaces, sporting facilities and more, Wyndham City’s capital works program has delivered the goods in 2025.

Among the highlights is the completion of a comprehensive $8.5 million upgrade of Old Melbourne Road, Rothwell Road, and McLeans Road in Little River, delivered as part of our Connecting Wyndham program to enhance road safety, improve traffic flow and reduce maintenance costs.

Werribee South’s K Road Cliffs have been transformed into an even more spectacular destination, featuring a brand-new clifftop walking path, staircase leading down to the river, picnic shelter, interpretive signage and more as part of stage one of Wyndham City’s $32.2 million K Road Cliffs and Road Reconstruction project.

In Point Cook, stage one of the $11 million Jamieson Way Community Centre and Reserve expansion includes a third kindergarten room and expanded outdoor play area, new multipurpose meeting spaces, maternal and child health consulting rooms and community kitchen.

We also opened the $10 million Wyndham Cultural Centre upgrade, featuring new gallery spaces, a modern bar, foyer and amenities, upgrades to seating and improvements to the overall theatre experience, a new entry to the Werribee Library from Wedge Street and more.

Other project highlights include a new Youth and Gateway Precinct at Lawrie Emmins Reserve in Laverton North, stage one of Polly Parade Reserve in Tarneit, tennis court redevelopment and pavilion expansion at Werribee’s Galvin Park, new dog off-leash parks at Cambridge Reserve in Hoppers Crossing and Alcock Road Reserve in Truganina, Zone 5 West of the Greening the Pipeline project, stage one of the Possy Newland Reserve upgrade in Little River and new shared user paths along the Davis Creek tributary and Skeleton Creek.

Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Josh Gilligan, said there were even more projects on track for completion in early 2026, with the finishing touches being added to stage one of Truganina’s Fortitude Drive Reserve, Manor Lakes’ Holyoake Parade Reserve and the Presidents Park upgrade.

“As we farewell 2025, it’s a great opportunity to look back at what we’ve achieved,” Cr Gilligan said.

“We’ve made huge gains in the first year of our landmark Connecting Wyndham program, with major progress across multiple road and transport projects – including our annual road reconstruction and road surface renewal programs – and even more in the pipeline for the year ahead.”

“We’ve also upgraded a range of parks and playgrounds across Wyndham through our annual Park Asset Renewal Program to ensure our outdoor spaces remain safe, accessible and packed with fun for all ages.”

“Meanwhile, we’ve been kicking goals with a series of sporting infrastructure improvements – from sports lighting to cricket net upgrades and irrigation enhancements – to ensure our clubs have the facilities they need to play, train and grow.”

“And there’s so much more to come in 2026, with work currently underway on the Tarneit Road and Leakes Road intersection upgrade, K Road reconstruction, the Ison Road project, stage two of the Jamieson Way Community Centre and Reserve expansion and the Doherty’s House Café project.”

“We’re also looking to the future with planning and design progressing on the next generation of community facilities, including Riverwalk Community Centre (interim name), The Big Shed (interim name), the former Palais Theatre site, Old Shire Offices refurbishment and Tarneit Indoor Sports Facility.”

“I’d like to thank the Victorian Government for their investment in several of these projects, including $4.75 million towards the Jamieson Way Community Centre and Reserve expansion, $3 million for the Wyndham Cultural Centre upgrade, $1.5 million for the K Road Cliffs and Road Reconstruction Project and $1.5 million towards the Lawrie Emmins Youth and Gateway Precinct.”
