We all deserve to be safe, equal and respected, and between 25 November and 10 December Wyndham City will host a suite of events and educational opportunities, as part of the annual 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign.
Held every year between the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (25 November) and Human Rights Day (10 December), 16 Days of Activism is a global campaign led by UN Women that encourages action to end gender-based violence, particularly against women and girls.
The campaign underscores that gender-based violence is not only a violation of individual rights but also a barrier to inclusive, safe and equitable communities.
This year, Wyndham City is offering a diverse range of events, workshops and community gatherings to engage residents in understanding, preventing and responding to gender-based violence.
The program includes a community event with keynote speaker Mataio Brown, a film screening and panel for Wounded Warriers, free webinars, a personal safety workshop and a Walk Against Family Violence.
