Are you looking for a vibrant space to bring your ideas to life?

Wyndham City Council are inviting passionate individuals, community groups, or organisations interested in hiring a community centre space to deliver programs, activities or services that meet the needs of residents, contributing to building stronger communities.

Whether you aim to host educational workshops, recreational classes, support groups, social or creative activities, our Community Centres offer the perfect setting to nurture connection and growth.

Applications close on Friday 26 September 2026.

Why do people go to Community Centres?

Community Centres are welcoming spaces where people come together to:

  • Connect with others
  • Learn new skills
  • Create and share ideas
  • Celebrate culture and community
  • Access support and services

Wyndham is one of the fastest growing and most diverse areas in Victoria. Nearly half of the people living here were born overseas, with many coming from India, the Philippines, China, New Zealand and England. Families, young people, seniors, and new residents use our centres.

Each week, thousands of people visit Wyndham’s Community Centres to join programs, get support, or simply connect with others.

Overview of Expression of Interest Process

Council-managed Community Centres undertake an annual Expression of Interest (EOI) process to enable community groups, not-for-profit organisations, and community-led facilitators to hire spaces to deliver regular programs, services and activities that reflect the diverse needs and interests of local residents and align with Council’s strategic objectives.

To ensure Community Centres meet changing community needs, each centre identifies ‘Neighbourhood Priorities’ that are shaped by demographic and place-based service data, Council strategic priorities including Council Plan 2025-29, feedback from internal and external services, and centre users.

Applications will be prioritised according to the eligibility criteria and the community centre Neighbourhood Priorities. Each community centre aims to provide a diverse mix of regular activities that meet the local needs. Wyndham’s Community Centre spaces are in high demand and not all applications will be successful.

Neighbourhood Priorities and Fact Sheets are available at Centres and published on the respective Community Centre webpage.

If you are an activity provider, understanding the needs of your local community is essential. When your program aligns with local priorities, it will naturally attract participants and make a meaningful difference.

Five Steps of Expression of Interest Process

Step 1: Call your local Centre and book a time from 21 August 2025 to meet with staff to talk about your ideas and confirm your eligibility. Learn about the Neighbourhoods Priorities and collect an application form.

Step 2: Submit your application by Friday 26 September 2025. Attach a copy of your Public Liability Insurance and Incorporation Certificate (if applicable).

Step 3: Applications assessed 27 September – 31 October 2025.

Step 4: Outcomes announced from 3 November 2025. Successful applicants receive a Confirmation Letter.

Step 5: Induction and Site Orientation begins in early 2026 (January/February) and is mandatory prior to activities commencing.
