Drop in, relaxed classes with bicycle educators available to give one to one support and tuition to beginner bike riders. Classes are on Friday afternoons, 27 October; 3, 10, 17, 24 November. Classes cover safety, helmet fit, bike check and basic riding skills. A bike trainer (stationary bike) and bicycles are available for practice, all with the support of friendly, accredited instructors. While learning to ride, classes start in an empty car park, and when students are confident, they ride around the bike paths of Heathdale Wetlands.
The class on November 24 is a celebration of what students have achieved and families are welcome to join in. The bike ride will be followed by a free BBQ.
Once students are confident to ride, we continue to support them and encourage them to use their bike for short journeys (shopping, getting to the station, taking kids to school). We will also offer bicycle maintenance and route choice support.
This event is proudly supported by VicRoads Community Road Safety Grants and Wyndham City Council
