The West End Experience returns for February with the western end of Watton Street in Werribee again transforming into a pop-up dining precinct with fresh air and scrumptious bites from fifteen different restaurants.

Treat your loved one with a romantic outdoor dining experience this Valentine’s Day.

The area between Bridge Hotel and Wedge Street will become an alfresco precinct, fully fit out with outdoor dining furniture, umbrellas, greenery and spots to catch up.

Local participating restaurants include Bridge Hotel, Truckstop Deluxe, Ages Pizza Place, Mama Lor and Teddy Picker and more.

Each venue will have their own outdoor seating area (with check-ins in place).  Check below listing of participating restaurants to see if you need to book.

Getting There & Parking

What is the best way to get to the precinct?

Live or work locally? Enjoy the summer weather and walk or ride to the West End Experience. Other options include:

Public Transport

The West End Experience is located under 1 km from the Werribee Train Station, making it easy to get there via train or bus.

Car Parking

West End Car Park - Free car parking is close by, with free, all-day parking in the West End Car Park, entry via Werribee St/Synnot St.

Cultural Centre Car Park - There are also 49, 3 hour car park spaces available at the Cultural Centre Car Park with access only from Synnot St.  Watton St access to this car park will be closed.

Riverbend Car Park - Three hour parking is also available in the Riverbend car park on Comben Drive.

There is also two hour parking along Watton Street.

Note that time limits do not apply after 5.30pm.

Accessible Car Parking

Accessible car parks remain in place as normal on Watton Street, as well as 4 at the West End Car Park, and 2 on Wedge Street near the Cultural Centre. To minimise impact of reduced parking in the Cultural Centre Car Park, two additional accessible car parks will also be allocated in the West End Car Park.  

Taxi

There is a designated Taxi Zone in Station Place.

Road Changes

Road Closure

To safely set up and run the activation, Watton St will be closed, between the Bridge Hotel and Wedge Street from 8am on Friday 15 January until 9am Monday 18 January.  Business deliveries can be made up until 11am on the Friday.

Access will be maintained for emergency vehicles and other essential movement, including apartment access, with traffic controllers in place to escort vehicles.

Traffic management will be in place throughout the weekend to help guide motorists, pedestrians and cyclists through the area safely.

Conditions of Entry

The West End Experience is a public outdoor dining precinct organised by Wyndham City Council.  Attendees must comply with the Conditions of Entry below so that everyone can enjoy the precinct in safety and comfort.

COVID-19

Attendees must comply with all current Victorian Government COVID-19 restrictions.  Attendees are requested to check in using the QR code for contact tracing purposes.

Alcohol

Alcohol is not permitted at the West End Experience, except at licensed venues.

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted at the West End Experience.

Photography/Filming

Live streaming or broadcasting of the West End Experience is not permitted.  Commercial photography is not permitted without prior permission from Council.

Children

Children must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.

Advertising and the sale or hire of Goods

Attendees are not permitted to sell or offer for sale or hire any items, nor to distribute handbills, pamphlets, notices or other advertising materials, without prior permission from Council.

Anti-social behaviour

Anti-social behaviour is prohibited.  The West End Experience is meant to be family friendly, safe and comfortable for all attendees.  Council requires that attendees behave in a safe, responsible and courteous manner at all times.

Be SunSmart

It is recommended that attendees take proper SunSmart precautions at the West End Experience, including using sunscreen, wearing a hat and drinking adequate water.

Property

Attendees are responsible for all personal property taken to the West End Experience and must not leave their property unattended.  Council reserves the right to remove any property left unattended at the West End Experience.

Consent in relation to images and photographs

By entering the West End Experience, attendees consent to the capturing and publishing of their image in authorised promotional photos and videos in whatever format and forum Council chooses.

Directions

Attendees must follow any reasonable direction given by a Council officer, authorised event security personnel or Police.

Cancellation and/or modification of event

Council reserves the right to cancel and/or modify the West End Experience.  Cancellations and modifications will be advised via the Werribee City Centre Facebook page (www.facebook/werribeecitycentre) and Council’s website (www.wyndham.vic.gov.au/westendexperience).

Failure to Comply with Conditions of Entry

Failure to comply with these Conditions of Entry may result in an attendee being removed from the West End Experience and refused re-entry to the West End Experience and/or future Council events.

Changes to these conditions

Council reserves the right to change these Conditions of Entry at any time.

Disclaimer

Attendance at the West End Experience is entirely at the risk of attendees. To the extent permitted by law, Council accepts no liability for any claim for loss, harm, damage, costs or expenses which may arise as a consequence of any such attendance at the West End Experience.

Do I need to book?

Each venue will have their own outdoor seating area (with check-ins in place). There will be plenty of choice with walk-ins, but bookings are recommended for some businesses. Visit our website www.wyndham.vic.gov.au/westendexpereince for details.

Will the road be closed?

Is the precinct accessible?

The West End Experience has a flat surface, with entry from the corner of Wedge Street/Watton Street and the West End Car Park area.  Ramp access to each individual restaurant’s outdoor dining area will be available from the footpath.  Accessible toilets will be located onsite near the Bridge Hotel.

We welcome visitors with assistance animals certified by a registered authority.

Where is there accessible parking?

What happens if it rains?

The West End Experience is an all-weather precinct and will be open in most weather conditions.  Weather will be monitored in the lead up and throughout the event.

If there is extreme weather forecast in the days leading up to the event, messaging will be placed on the Wyndham City website and www.facebook/werribeecitycentre to alert patrons that elements may be moved, postponed or cancelled.

Will there be additional toilet facilities in the precinct?

From Friday through to Sunday additional portable toilets will be onsite, located near the Bridge Hotel.  Toilets are also available at each restaurant/bar for paying customers.

COVID-19 Safety

Any restrictions or regulations will be in place in accordance with the current COVIDSafe guidelines set down by the DHHS website

These include but are not limited to: 

  • If you have any cold-like symptoms, including a runny nose, sore throat, chills, fever, lack of taste or smell, please do not come to the West End Experience. Please get tested at a COVID-19 testing site.
  • To assist with contact tracing and as a requirement by the State Government we will be requesting all visitors either pre-book with a participating restaurant or scan the QR codes on entry and fill in the corresponding online form.  
  • Please remain in social group numbers no greater than current guidelines. 
  • To minimise movement, stay within your allocated seat/space where practical.
  • As the activation is held outdoors, visitors are not required to wear a mask. However, it is strongly recommended that you wear a face mask in situations when you are unable to stay more than 1.5 metres from other people, such as transport stops, busy walkways, and shops. Visitors are required to carry a mask at all times.
  • We have determined the capacity of the outdoor dining precinct based on current COVIDSafe restrictions/guidelines and should the precinct reach capacity further admissions will not be permitted.
  • We encourage frequent hand washing and use of hand sanitisers, with sanitising stations within the precinct.
  • Each participating restaurant also has their own COVIDSafe plan.

Anyone refusing to obey the restrictions outlined above or the direction of staff or management will be asked to leave. 

This activation has been classified as a Tier 3 Public Event as part of the Public Event Framework as outlined by the Victoria State Government. Organisers of Tier 3 public events must complete and publish COVIDSafe Event Checklist.
