FAQ's

Do I have to be fully vaccinated to enter a council facility?

All people aged 12 years 2 months and older must be fully vaccinated to enter a Council facility.

Exemptions apply to those accessing essential services, including:

  • Maternal and Child Health Services
  • Immunisation Services
  • Counselling and support services
  • Food relief programs
  • In-home based support
  • 1:1 transport
  • Delivered meals
  • Property maintenance/home modifications
  • The tip

Will anyone be checking vaccination status?

Our staff will be checking vaccination status for all those entering Council facilities. Please be patient and respectful.

There are 5 ways you can show COVID-19 proof of vaccination :

  • COVID-19 digital certificate via the Service Victoria app
  • COVID-19 digital certificate saved to a smartphone wallet
  • Printed copy of COVID-19 digital certificate
  • Printed copy of immunisation history statement
  • Eligible proof of vaccination exemption

A vaccine appointment card or negative COVID-19 test results are not acceptable forms of proof of vaccination.

If your child is younger than 14, parents or guardians should be able to access their COVID-19 Digital Certificate using either their Medicare online account through myGov, or the Express Plus Medicare mobile app.

Will I have to wear a mask?

Masks are no longer mandatory in many settings where social distancing of 1.5 metres is possible. However masks are still required in some high-risk settings. Please follow the direction of council staff and signage at the venue you are visiting.

Can my child return to kinder?

Yes, from 1 November all children enrolled in kindergarten can return, regardless of the parents’ vaccination status.

Is the tip open?

The tip reopened to residents at 8am on 22 October. All customers are required to check in with their Service Victoria QR Code app, and maintain social distancing.

We have also extended the expiry of the 2020/21 waste disposal vouchers (tip tokens) until 31 December 2021.

Is the Werribee outdoor pool open?

The Werribee Outdoor Pool will reopen on 12 November after a $1.5 million upgrade

When will Eagle Stadium start operating as a basketball stadium again?

The Health Club at Eagle Stadium will reopen for members on Saturday 30 October. Eagle Stadium will continue to operate as the Western Health run vaccination hub until the end of November. 

Can I use the pavilions at community sporting facilities?

Pavilions at community sporting facilities will be available from Saturday 30 October. Users must be fully vaccinated

How many people in Wyndham are fully vaccinated?

As of November 23, 95% percent of Wyndham residents over 16 years of age were fully vaccinated.

Are Wyndham staff fully vaccinated?

Under the Chief Health Officer Directions, all local government workers, cleaners and contractors must be fully vaccinated.
