EVENT CANCELLATIONS AND WEATHER UPDATES

MSO Summer Symphony: Friday 28 January – CANCELLED

Tinkerbell and the Dream Fairies Adventure to Bubble Land: Saturday 29 January - CANCELLED

Unfortunately due to the extreme weather conditions with thunderstorms and heavy rainfall Wyndham City and Melbourne Symphony Orchestra have made the difficult decision to cancel tonight’s MSO Summer Symphony on Friday 28 January in Wyndham Park.

That heavy rainfall experienced today and the condition of the grounds of Wyndham Park, also means that tomorrow’s performances for Tinkerbell and the Dream Fairies Adventure in Bubble Land with the Australian Shakespeare Company on Saturday 29 January can no longer go ahead.

We have been monitoring the forecast and onsite conditions closely throughout the day and this past week and doing everything we can to be able to bring these free events to you safely, right up until show time.

It’s a tough blow, to cancel at this point, after so many months of planning and rehearsals and of course the challenges of COVID-19.

We know that this will be disappointing, especially for our attendees who have made plans and for those tuning in at home as well, who have been looking forward to such special experiences.

We know how much events like this mean to our community and to the performers.

While disappointing, safety is our first priority and we thank you for your understanding.

Sneaky Sound System – Saturday 29 January 2022 – Proceeding

Sneaky Sound System is expected to proceed.

Any event updates will be published via Wyndham City’s facebook page @WyndhamCityCouncil and via our website at https://www.wyndham.vic.gov.au/sounds-at-wyndham-park.

Make the most of summer and come down to the beautiful Wyndham Park in Werribee City Centre on the last weekend of the school holidays,  28 - 29 January 2022, for a huge weekend of live music and entertainment presented by Wyndham Cultural Centre.

On Friday 28 January, picnic with friends and family and enjoy Summer Symphony, with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra performing excerpts and short works from much-loved music, including renowned pieces from Aaron Copland, Astor Piazzolla and Johann Strauss II, plus some contemporary classics in the relaxed atmosphere of Wyndham Park.

At the musical heart of Summer Symphony is an initiative built on genuine collaboration with artists drawn from each of the local communities. Four dynamic and diverse artists from Melbourne’s west - Ag Johnson, ELAURA, Nomad and HVSH – will share the stage with the MSO for a collaborative performance, in partnership with GRID Series.

Australian Shakespeare Company will bring a touch of magic to Wyndham Park with two performances of Tinkerbell and The Dream Fairies on Saturday, 29 January. The colour and razzle dazzle of these wonderful family shows will delight the little ones with an enchanting world of song and dance.

Later in the day, a high-energy performance by world-class band Sneaky Sound System will round off the weekend.

Sounds at Wyndham Park is a free Wyndham City program with bookings essential. View Sounds of Wyndham Park condition of entry.
