The 1eight2five program is for young adults aged 18-25 years.

The purpose of the program is to give young people the opportunity to get together in a social setting and meet young people their age whilst enjoying an outing.
Outings include; trips out for dinner and the movies, social get-togethers and more.

Youth Services caters for all dietary/allergy needs including Halal, vegeterian and vegan.

Book of Stuff

The Book Of Stuff is a service directory designed for young people aged 12-25 in Wyndham. It contains lots of information that is useful for young people, including:

  • Information about the various programs, services and events that council provides for young people at the Youth Resource Centre and community centres
  • Local facilities, libraries, clubs/groups, activities, grants, and events
  • Information about what to do in various situations and the different agencies and services available to help. This includes information about bullying, mental health, depression, homelessness, alcohol and drugs, legal services, health, and more!
  • Public transport information (myki, buses and trains)
  • Discount vouchers for food, driving schools, and entertainment activities.

The Book of Stuff is available at community centres, libraries, schools, and at the Youth Resource Centre.

Breakaway Program

The Breakaway Program is an innovative recreational respite program providing centre-based activities and excursions for children and young people aged between 5 and 17 years with mild to moderate disability.

All programs are supervised by trained and experienced staff to ensure a fun and safe environment.

There are three Breakaway Programs run by Youth Services.

Junior Breakaway Program - 5 to 11 Years
Senior Breakaway Program - 12 to 17 Years
To attend the Breakaway program, enrolment and bookings are essential. Please note that numbers are limited.

Youth Services caters for all dietary/allergy needs including Halal, vegetarian and vegan.

To book into the Breakaway program, please contact the Breakaway Co-ordinator on 8734 1355.

To attend Breakaway, families need to have undergone an assessment by the Young Families Assessment Officer on 9742 0777.  During the time of Assessment, Breakaway will be offered to families and a copy of the personal care details will be forwarded to the staff to ensure your child’s individual needs are met at the program.

Times available:
The Breakaway program operates on Saturday’s during each month, and some days during school holidays.  The time and age group programs changes each month and families receive a program through the mail. The program works on a booking system where families contact the Coordinator to book their child/ren in for the program they are most interested in attending.

Please be aware that not every program will be suitable for every young person.  Allocation of programs will be made at the discretion of the Breakaway Program Officer.

Allocation of service:
During the time of Assessment, Breakaway will be offered to eligible clients.  Once family give permission for their child to attend the program, they will book in to the programs that most interest them according to the programs that are mailed out to families.  Contacting the Breakaway Respite Program Coordinator makes bookings.

Bump, Baby & Beyond

About the Program 

The Bump, Baby & Beyond Program is a FREE service (small fee for some excursions) that is offered to pregnant and/or parenting young females up to the age of 25 years who live, work or study in Wyndham City. 

We provide support to pregnant and parenting women with the opportunity for personal development, social support and participation in recreational activities. 

You are wel­come to attend with or without your child/ren.

The program is held at:

  • Youth Resource Centre - 86 Derrimut Road, Hoppers Crossing.

Need Transport To and From Program?

We offer FREE transport to program participants who do not have access to private or public transport.

Transport must be booked by 12pm the day before program, by calling Youth Services
on 8734 1355.

Please advise us if you need a car seat when booking (as it is against the law to have children unrestrained in a vehicle).

Dad Space

The Dad Space program welcomes

A girls only program with centre-based activities and excursions. 

The program is a great opportunity to try something different, chill out, have a bite to eat and meet some new friends.

Please note: These programs are for Young people aged between 12-17 years or students in year 7.

Grade 6 students are welcome to attend in terms 3 & 4.

Q Program

Q is a social group and committee for young people aged up to 25 years who may be Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transsexual, Intersex, Gender questioning, Pan Sexual and Straight.

It’s for young people who want to meet like minded people and participate in events and activities in Wyndham and Melbourne, while building confidence and providing support.

Youth Services caters for all dietary/allergy needs including Halal, vegetarian and vegan.

Vibes

The Vibes Program runs every Thursday during the school term at the Youth Resource Centre from 4pm to 8.30pm.

The Vibes music program offers skills based sessions and has a weekly master chef competition!

Weekly activities include arts, music, cooking & cultural dance workshops.
