The Counselling Team provides FREE counselling sessions to young people in the Wyndham City Region.
We can come to your school, or you can meet us at one of our locations.

Youth Services Counselling
If you have a young person you are concerned about that you feel may benefit from counselling, please read further and contact us for more information. We are a generalist counselling service for young people and provide 10 sessions on a weekly or fortnightly basis for in the Wyndham municipality.
If you are feeling down, stressed, angry or confused; or have some troubles with friends or family, you can talk to one of our Youth Counsellor who can support you. So why is counselling helpful?
- You can be heard and supported without judgement
- You can talk to a professional in a safe environment
- You can talk about a range of options to help you overcome challenges
- You can introduce positive change into your environment
- It’s a free Service
Young people must meet the following criteria to access our Youth Counselling Services.
- Young people aged between 12-25
- Young people who live/work/study/recreate in Wyndham Region
- Young people who want counselling and are aware of referral
Please note: If a young person does not meet the above criteria or are not sure if they do, please call us so that we can assist.
Counselling sessions usually last from 45-60 minutes and are delivered in a safe confidential space at one of our centres or at school (If appropriate). Sessions are free and usually occur on a weekly or fortnightly basis.
Usually the young person and the counsellor meet in a private and comfortable environment, however others can get invited to sessions (such as parents or partners), if the young person agrees to do so.
Counselling sessions are available Monday to Friday between 9am and 6pm

Personal Development Programs for Schools
Personal Development Programs aim to assist young people explore their positive attributes and realise their potential.
Youth Services work with local primary and secondary schools to provide developmental programs for a diverse range of young people.
These programs cover a variety of topics including problem solving, teamwork, communication skills and recognising / managing feelings.
Our range of Personal Development Programs include:
SHINE: Body image and healthy relationships program for young women
SEA: Self-Esteem and assertiveness program for young women
LEAP: Change and resilience personal development program
STAC: Transitioning to year 7 program for grade 6 students
DRUM BEAT: Communication and creative expression program
START: Self-Esteem and assertiveness program for young men
SEX FACTOR: Relationships, health and wellbeing class workshop for schools
HEALTHY MINDS: Mental Health and wellbeing class workshop for schools

Family Information Sessions
Our Family Information Sessions provides information sessions on a range of topics which allows families to have a better understanding of children and young people and parenting skills in general. All sessions are available to Wyndham City Council residents, workers and students. Families with children of all ages are invited to attend any session, including Parents, grandparents and carers.
How to book
- Bookings are essential as there are limited places available for each session.
- Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of the session to allow time to park and sign in.
