To help teach children about values and behaviours, try our Special Theme picture books. These books will help introduce new concepts like accepting a new member of the family or going for that first visit to the doctor and they talk about special events like Easter and Chinese New Year.

Reluctant Readers Book List
Using high interest reading materials can help spark an interest in reading for children with learning difficulties. High interest texts are usually fairly non-traditional. They often focus on “edgy” topics or include a great deal of action. In addition, they may not look like a traditional book. Some resources that offer variety and engagement include graphic novels, audio books, magazines or even non-fiction items like “fun facts”. The goal in using high interest reading material is to jump start a reluctant reader’s interest in reading. We've put together a list of suggested reading of items that can be found at your local Wyndham Library or come in and talk to your Children’s librarian.
